Writer, Art Director & Producer
About your Teacher
My name is Yula Loven, and I’m an Artist-turned-Producer!
My journey in the animation industry began while working on one of the world’s biggest children’s shows, Cocomelon, which later opened the door to additional productions including Morphle, Blippi, Lellobee City Farm, and more. Not long after, I transitioned into production-focused roles and worked on feature films such as Nimona and Entergalactic.
After gaining experience within the traditional studio production system, I moved into indie development as a showrunner. I spent 2 years producing an independent preschool series with a $1M development budget, while managing a team of 50+ crew members. Later, I took the next step and began developing my own original IP without studio backing. The project has since grown to 70+ crew members across the globe and will soon be launched to the public. Along the way, I’ve also been mentored and guided by Oscar-winning producers and industry executives working with major IP franchises and building original YouTube-first shows from scratch.
I’ve dedicated almost 4 years to indie development, learned a ton along the way, and now it’s time to share what this journey has taught me, while comparing it to the traditional Hollywood system.

About the Program
In the time of never-ending layoffs and studio closures, Indie Animation seems to be on an unexpected rise. This shift comes with both negative and positive consequences. On one hand, we can no longer rely on traditional studio systems for stable employment or greenlights for original shows. On the other, it has opened a door nobody really saw coming. It has never been easier to create and put your own IP out there without Hollywood's permission.
Despite how encouraging this sounds, creating, managing and completing an Indie Production requires a whole set of skills. Whether you are an artist or already have production experience, there is a lot to learn before turning your idea into an actual production.
In this course, you will learn how the traditional Hollywood system works and how it compares to the recently emerged creator-led system. No matter your background, the goal is to prepare you for the realities of producing, help you build your production from scratch and understand how to protect your intellectual property before putting it out into the world.
The course consists of 4 classes, around 1 hour each, followed by a live Q&A session after every lecture. Certificate of completion will be available upon request.
Class Details

CLASS 1 CREATING THE HEART: PITCHING

Everything starts with a pitch deck.
But in 2026 traditional studio pitch is slowly vanishing.
This class will compare a traditional Hollywood system to a new way of audience pitching.
Old ways are long gone, but the readiness to pitch is still the heart of your production.
CLASS CHAPTERS:
CHAPTER 1 HOW TO CHOOSE LOGLINE THAT SELLS?
CHAPTER 2: WHAT'S THE ANATOMY OF STUDIO STANDARD DECK? (TEMPLATE)
CHAPTER 3: PITCHING TO STUDIOS VS TO THE AUDIENCE
CHAPTER 4: WHY DO YOU NEED MULTIPLE PITCH DECKS?
CHAPTER 5: HOW TO ATTACH CELEBRITIES AND TALENT?
CHAPTER 6: WHAT IS 360° IP STRATEGY AND HOW TO USE IT?
CLASS 2 CREATING THE BONES: PRODUCTION

Let's start building your production from scratch.
There is one thing about Hollywood, no school will ever teach you. Even multi-million dollar budgets are scrapped together by multiple sources of funding.
But what if your grant applications and studio pitches get rejected?
Making animation is no longer gatekept by those decision makers.
This class will teach you how productions are made on major and micro budgets.
CLASS CHAPTERS:
CHAPTER 1: HOW PRODUCTIONS GET FUNDED? (STUDIO BUDGET VS INDIE BUDGET)
CHAPTER 2: GRANTS, GOVERNMENT INITIATIVES, TAXES & PRIVATE INVESTING
CHAPTER 3: INDIE STUDIO INCOME: CROWDFUNDING & MERCHANDISE
CHAPTER 4: HOW TO START BUILDING YOUR TEAM?
CHAPTER 5: RECRUITMENT GREEN AND RED FLAGS
CLASS 3 CREATING THE MUSCLES: SHOWRUNNING

Running production is not a sprint. It's a marathon.
This might be the hardest thing you will ever do.
Prepare your stamina by a smooth production set up.
And if your stamina will run long enough, make sure your viral success and IP ownership is legally protected.
CLASS CHAPTERS:
CHAPTER 1: HOW TO RUN REMOTE STUDIO ON A BUDGET?
CHAPTER 2: WHAT ARE UNEXPECTED COSTS OF STUDIO OPERATIONS?
CHAPTER 3: LEGAL: WHY YOU NEED CHAIN OF TITLE FROM DAY 1?
CHAPTER 4: LEGAL: HOW TO LEGALLY PROTECT YOUR IP OWNERSHIP?
CHAPTER 5: LEGAL TOOLKIT FOR YOUR PRODUCTION
CLASS 4 CREATING THE SOUL: TEAM

Your team will make it or break it.
A producer without a strong team, is like a captain of a sunking ship.
The people you will recruit will determine how far you can get.
And you will determine how fast you can speed run their careers.
CLASS CHAPTERS:
CHAPTER 1: HOW TO MANAGE YOUR TEAM REMOTELY?
CHAPTER 2: HOW TO MANAGE TEAM GROWTH? (FROM 5 TO 70 PEOPLE)
CHAPTER 3: DIGITAL SAFETY OF YOUR PRODUCTION
CHAPTER 4: HOW UNDERSTANDING PSYCHOLOGY CAN HELP IN LEADING?
CHAPTER 5: WHAT IS SHOWRUNNER'S MINDSET?
CHAPTER 6: MISTAKES TO AVOID

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Are the lectures recorded?
Due to classes including NDA material, it's not possible to record the lectures. I strongly believe, animation production can only be taught through hands on experiences, therefore, I try my best to show authentic examples.
How long are the classes?
Every lecture is around 1 hour + live QnA that usually lasts around 10-15 minutes, depending on the group questions. All classes are online and organised via Google Meet.
When is the next schedule?
Due to a very high demand and interest in this program, I consider doing another cycle in the future. Unfortunately, I can't promise anything and commit to any future dates due to my other professional commitments. Please follow my social media to keep up with any updates.
Can we get after-class materials?
Clients will get access to the slideshow presentation, with an exclusion of NDA material.
Can I split the payment?
Due to relatively low cost of this program, splitting the payment into many micro-payments is not possible.
I am only open to a 50% non-refundable deposit, this option will be reviewed on case by case basis.
What is your refund policy?
If you change your mind, refunds are available within 3 days of purchase. After that, I’m unable to offer refunds, due to limited spots.
